Cornerstone
Mission Fund
MISSION: To allow for faithful giving in response
to God's goodness through accumulated, inherited
and appreciated resources during life or at
death.
HOW IS THIS DONE? The Cornerstone Fund of
St. John's is an opportunity to exercise
Christian stewardship through a perpetual fund
from which ordinary income (interest and
dividends) are distributed to sponsor ministry
at home and around the world, above and beyond
the programs supported through regular
offerings.
The Cornerstone Fund serves as a
resource to support three areas of ministry,
namely building and maintenance, youth
scholarships and Mission outreach.
Bequests, transfers, CDs, and charitable gift
annuities are some of the means by which the
leadership and members of St. John's are
encouraged to support the Fund.
The Cornerstone Mission Fund committee
manages the operation of the fund. Members
(total of 6) are nominated by the Pastor and
council president and approved by a vote at the
annual congregational meeting.
MEETINGS:
Meetings are held about 4 times a year, usually
the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in
the copy room of the education building.
