The boiler installation for the education
building will begin on Thursday, November 5th, 2009. After
some clever redesign though, the new boiler will be placed in
the boiler room off of the parish hall and not the separate
boiler room in the education building.
By moving the location, the new setup
will serve our existing facility the future building saving
the church over well over $35,000. A new zone will be added,
creating three heating zones in the education building. The
new zone will be installed so that the current offices will be
separated out from the upper and lower floors of the education
building, allowing only the offices and upper floor to be
heated as needed during the week.
We held a building committee meeting on Oct.
13th. During that meeting schematic drawings were presented
and discussed. Four drawings which represent the
summary of all the drawings, along with a short power point
presentation are available on our web
site. NOTE:!!! THESE DRAWINGS ONLY
REPRESENT THE GENERAL IDEAS AS FORWARD TO US FROM CODE
NECESSITIES, GROUP REQUIREMENTS, AND COMMENTS MADE FROM THE
CONGREGATION. This is just a starting point for open
discussions to take place in the near future. Shape, size
finish material etc., will all be discussed and voted on along
the way. No cost analysis has been completed to date until we
get a better idea of what the congregation
wants.
Architect John Doster and ELCA architect Betsy
Williams have been consulted along the way. Betsy will be at
our church in January of 2010.
The fundraising committee has three dinners
planned for next year. The First is a Fish Fry dinner at Lent.
The second will bring back the annual Roast beef dinner around
the Fourth of July with the town band. And the third is an
Oktoberfest which will be held at an outside location so beer
may be served.
On November 15th at 12:15pm, we will hold a
congregational meeting to vote on the council and Finance
committee recommendation for a Capital Campaign company. At
this time we will also have an update to the progress of the
building project.
To date, 68 questionnaires have been returned out
of the 325 that were handed out/ mailed to the congregation.
Please, if you have not done so, return them to the church
office or drop them in the box in the Foyer.
I would like to thank everyone for their support
of this project.
Though God's work and our hands,
Respectfully submitted,
Rick Lipka, Project
Manager
