Update

Dear St. John's Parishioner,

Beginning this coming Sunday, September 13th, we will revert to our fall/winter/spring worship schedule. There will be Sunday morning worship at 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM in addition to the Saturday service at 5:00 PM. Sunday Church School resumes this week with Rally Day Sunday. Students will register, have their pictures taken, join together in a special service and meet their new teachers. Combining worship with the fellowship of getting back together for another year of learning about the wonders of God, should make it a great day.

Church Building Update

1. The organ has been installed and will be in working order next Sunday. Remaining parts have been securely stored at Niagara Organ works along with all the pew cushions.

2. The boiler work has begun. Both boilers have been ordered and are in route. Both will be installed before the heating season.

3. Verizon has relocated the main service from the church building to the education building.

4. The sound system from the church has been installed in the Parish Hall.

THANK YOU to all who helped with the organ move; we are very grateful.

Tour de Revs Update

The Reverends completed their, "Three guys, one bike, 100 days, 13,000 miles and 65 cities" on August 20th with the final stop in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  They rode into the Convention Center, spoke to the 2,000 people gathered for the Church Wide Assembly and received a standing ovation.  The total funds raised for the ELCA World Hunger Appeal has not yet been announced.

At St. John's we have also completed our support and sponsorship of the Tour de Revs.  We successfully had volunteers to sponsor 72 of the 100 days; 56 of the 65 stops.  Over 120 adults and children from St. John's participated in this effort to bring attention to and raise money for the plight of the world's hungry.  As of September 7th we have collected $3,471 in contributions with $1,157 in matching funds from the Erie County Thrivent Chapter for a total of $4,628.  This is about 77% of our $6,000 goal.  There are still several volunteers who sponsored a day with outstanding donations.

THANKS TO ALL for your support and hard work.

Display Issue With St. John's Web Site Home Page

We continue to experience issues with web browsers OTHER than Microsoft Internet Explorer (I.E. Firefox. Opera, Safari, Chrome) properly displaying our web site home page. This problem is expected to be resolved shortly, as we are converting our entire web site to a different web builder program that will display all pages properly, regardless of the browser being used. In the interim, we ask your patience until the conversion is complete.
