St. John's Music
Choir
Band
Choir:
MISSION:
To musically lead the congregation during a
liturgical worship service; to provide
meditative and/or inspirational music during the
offering.
HOW IS THIS DONE?
The choir sings at the 11:00 a.m. service
The adult choir rehearses music appropriate to
the occasion… scripture for the day is
considered in the selection process.
The adult choir learns and prepares for
changes in the liturgical setting in order to
better assist the congregation during the
learning process.
Specialty music is provided for such days as
Christmas Eve, Holy Week and Easter. Other
special events may also require a choir such as
installations, ordinations or anniversaries.
Reading music is not necessary; welcome all
who love to sing.
MEETINGS:
Rehearsals are usually held on Wednesday
evenings from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. On occasion,
rehearsals follow the 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship
service. The triple classroom in the Educational
building is used. Rehearsals are not held during
the summer worship schedule (late June – Labor
Day)
