St. John's Music

Choir

Band

Choir:

MISSION: To musically lead the congregation during a liturgical worship service; to provide meditative and/or inspirational music during the offering.

HOW IS THIS DONE?
 The choir sings at the 11:00 a.m. service
 The adult choir rehearses music appropriate to the occasion… scripture for the day is considered in the selection process.
 The adult choir learns and prepares for changes in the liturgical setting in order to better assist the congregation during the learning process.
 Specialty music is provided for such days as Christmas Eve, Holy Week and Easter. Other special events may also require a choir such as installations, ordinations or anniversaries.
 Reading music is not necessary; welcome all who love to sing.

MEETINGS: Rehearsals are usually held on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. On occasion, rehearsals follow the 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship service. The triple classroom in the Educational building is used. Rehearsals are not held during the summer worship schedule (late June – Labor Day)
