Christian
Education
MISSION: The Christian
Education committee acts as a reporting agent
for all educational programs and activities
within the congregation and makes
recommendations which will enhance the
educational program.
WHAT IS DONE? Our Christian Education
programs include the Adult Education program,
the Catechetical program, the Splash (cradle
roll) program, the First Communion program,
Library, Preschool, Sunday Church School, SCS
Christmas program and Vacation Church School.
The committee monitors each of the programs and
offers assistance to our volunteer leaders
whenever needed.
The
Spark program is introduced to families when
their child is baptized. Mary Saviola is the
coordinator. The program contacts these families
for 3 years until the child is ready for the 3
year old Sunday Church School Class.
The Sunday School Staff uses the Akaloo
curriculum along with various other enrichments
to teach children from 3 year old through 9th
grade confirmation. They present Bibles to 3rd
graders and this class prepares students for
their springtime 1st communion.
Intergenerational events are planned throughout
the year by various committees.
MEETINGS: This large group meets on an
ad-hoc basis. Smaller focus groups meet whenever
necessary; an example is when a new program is
introduced.
CONTACT PERSONS: Please contact Kathy
Moody @ 824-9632 or Pastor John if you are
interested in offering your assistance to any of
the Christian Education groups. The Council
representative is Larry Chavanne.
