Your Offerings

This is just a reminder that there are several ways to give your offerings to church. Some of you do so through Tithely, or by mail. For those who bring their offerings to one of the services, please remember that we do not "pass the plate" during the service, as we did before the Covid epidemic. You should put your offerings in the slot in the Offerings table in the narthex, either before or after the service. This is a cleaner, safer way of collecting your offerings. You should also put communion record cards in this same slot, or give them to the usher.  The offerings plate is brought up to the altar during the service by the usher.

Directory

The directory has been updated. It will continue to be updated with any new changes. If you do have any changes to make, EX..moving, phone numbers, etc. Please make sure to contact Vicky Wienke so we can try to keep everything to date.
You can  send an email vhwinks@gmail.com
If you would like a copy of the new directory please contact the office. It can be sent electronically or printed if need be.

Constitution

The Constitution that was submitted to the ELCA has been approved. There is a link on the website that will take you there.

If you would like a printed copy, please let the office know and we can arrange that for you.

From the Pastor

From the Pastor

Psalm 138
1I will give thanks to you, O Lord, with my whole heart;
before the gods I will sing your praise.
2I will bow down toward your holy temple and praise your name, because of your steadfast love and faithfulness;
for you have glorified your name and your word above all things.
3When I called, you answered me;
you increased my strength within me.
4All the rulers of the earth will praise you, O Lord,
when they have heard the words of your mouth.
5They will sing of the ways of the Lord,
that great is the glory of the Lord.
6The Lord is high, yet cares for the lowly,
perceiving the haughty from afar.
7Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you keep me safe;
you stretch forth your hand against the fury of my enemies; your right hand shall save me.
8You will make good your purpose for me;
O Lord, your steadfast love endures forever; do not abandon the works of your hands.

“When asked about his greatest lessons learned, J. Ellsworth Kalas, the 86-year-old president of Asbury Theological Seminary, said: ‘Buy a house on Gratitude Street. Do so as soon as you can, because this is the only place to live, and the longer you live here the more you’ll love it. And believe me, you will enjoy your neighbors. The price on this street is steep, but you can afford it. You purchase this property with humility, by acknowledging that you are deeply indebted to both God and people. You confess that you wouldn’t have anything if it weren’t for what has been given to you. The important thing is not only to realize this but to acknowledge it — to say ‘thank you’ as often as you can, to God and to people.’”
—Ellsworth Kalas, “Lessons learned,” Asbury Theological Seminary Alumni Link, Summer 2009, 8.

Something to ponder today.
Peace and blessings this day.

Our Prayer List

Burrito Project

On the 29th of this month, we will once again be heading downtown to feed and offer personal hygiene supplies to the homeless there.  Although Thrivent has been supplying us with enough money for the food, we have to rely on you to help us gather the other supplies.

At this point, the need is for the following items:  Underwear (large & small men’s and women’s), Socks, Shampoo, Deodorant, Body wash, Chap stick, Nail Clippers, Wash Cloths, Blankets, Ponchos. If you can manage to bring some of these things in, it will be a great help to people in need.

Also, if you want to help by donating your time please let me know and I will give you the details on how you can do that.
